DENVER - One suspect has been wounded in a shooting involving Denver Police on Monday evening, the department reports.
According to the department's Twitter account, the officer-involved shooting happened at 3289 Grove Street and involved a single suspect.
The wounded suspect was taken to the hospital.
Police spokesman John White said officers were sent to the area to respond to the report of a suicidal party. The person was posing a threat to himself and then advanced on officers who arrived and issued commands.
Before resorting to shooting the officers used a form of nonlethal force, White said, but the suspect continued to advance.
No officers were hurt, police said.
