DENVER - A student was arrested Tuesday for bringing a gun to class at the Denver Center for 21st Century Learning.

District spokeswoman Kristy Armstrong said the student was arrested outside of school property and without incident. Armstrong also said she was not aware of any threats connected to the incident.

School operations were back to normal by 1:20 p.m. and the district will be sending parents a letter explaining what happened. The letter will remind students that guns cannot be brought to school, Armstrong said.

The Denver Center for 21st Century Learning is located at 1690 Williams Street, in the former Wyman Elementary School building. It focuses on "helping underserved and hard-to-serve students."
