Shoplifting escalates to robbery when suspect pulls out a gun

DENVER - A shoplifting case escalated to robbery when one of the suspects pointed a handgun at victims inside a Family Dollar location. Police are asking for help identifying the suspects.

The two suspects, a Hispanic man and woman, snatched items from the store at 7 p.m. on August 8, according to a Crime Stoppers alert. After the crime, they drove away from the store at 990 N. Federal Blvd. in a Maroon Ford Expedition with chrome trim and chrome wheels.

Both suspects were estimated to be between the ages of 22 and 29.

The male is about 5-foot-7 and weighs an estimated 150 pounds. He wore glasses and has a beard.

The female suspect is about 5-foot-7 and weighs an estimated 160 pounds. She has a tattoo of stars on her shoulder.
