Police: Lockdown lifted at Montbello Campus

The lockdown at Montbello Campus has been lifted after no weapons were found at the school, an official with the Denver Police Department said Friday afternoon. 

A Denver Public School official also tweeted more information about the lockdown would be sent home to parents. 

Police received reports of possible weapons on campus at 1:27 p.m., according to DPS spokesperson Will Jones. Several Denver Police vehicles were dispatched to the high school, located on Crown Boulevard and 51st Avenue. The scene was given the all-clear an hour later, at 2:32 p.m.

The campus houses three separate schools: 

  • STRIVE Prep Montbello Middle School
  • Noel Community Arts School
  • Denver Center for International Studies at Montbello
