DENVER - Denver police say a man fleeing a fight ran into the street and was struck by a vehicle and critically injured on Friday evening.
The incident happened about 5 p.m. at Broadway and 11th Avenue, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
Jackson said the man got into a confrontation with someone on the sidewalk, ran into the street to escape and was hit by a silver or gray Honda CRV. The Honda driver took off.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in critical condition, Jackson said.
The intersection was closed about an hour while police investigated the collision.
