15-year-old pedestrian has minor injuries in hit and run at Monaco Parkway and Exposition in Denver

Boy escapes with sprained arm

DENVER - Denver Police said a 15-year-old boy received minor injuries after he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle at South Monaco Parkway and East Exposition Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The teen, who was not identified, suffered a sprained arm during the hit-and-run, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

Instead of calling authorities, the boy boarded an RTD bus and headed north on Monaco, Jackson said. But the teen's arm began to hurt and he exited the bus at Monaco and Colfax Avenue and call 911 for medical aid. An ambulance took the victim to be checked out at Children's Hospital in Aurora, Jackson added.

There was no immediate description of the suspect vehicle.
