Dancing with the Stars standout Nyle DiMarco is working to support the deaf community in Colorado.

DiMarco attended a fundraising dinner for the Veditz Center in hopes of building a new ASL/Deaf center.

Taking some time away from his Dancing with the Stars practice, DiMarco raised awareness within the deaf community about investing in each other and working together.

He said his journey on Dancing with the Stars is emblematic of how the deaf community can work together to accomplish a goal and make a difference.

“My experience with dancing with the stars has been phenomenal. Of course it’s certainly not anything easy. I can’t hear the music, which means I then have to work twice as hard to prove that, and I have to bring 100 percent to the effort every week. But it’s been a fun challenge and a real journey,” said DiMarco

DiMarco is in the top 6 and will dance again Monday night at 7 p.m. on Denver7.
