DENVER -- The University of Denver sent out a warning to students about attacks with eggs being thrown from moving vehicles, in one case causing serious injuries.

"While some may think this is a prank, it is a criminal offense," stated the Campus Safety Notice.

Campus police said at least three people have reported egg attacks in the last week to ten days, all aimed at people walking on the outside edges of the DU campus.

They do not have a description of the suspects, although one victim said they were in a dark-colored SUV.

Denver Police are investigating the incidents.

In one attack, a 19-year-old student was injured so badly, her father told Denver7 there was concern her eye might have permanent damage.

Campus Safety is asking anyone with information to call DU Campus Safety Investigator Mike Fetrow at (303) 871-4226.
