Denver police trying to identify suspect in robbery of Vectra Bank

DENVER - Denver police are trying to identify a man who robbed a Vectra Bank south of downtown on Thursday morning.

The robbery happened about 9:45 a.m. when a white man entered the bank at 401 E. Speer Blvd. and demanded money from a teller, Denver police said via Twitter.

After grabbing the cash, the man fled on foot near the bike path that runs along Cherry Creek.

Surveillance camera images released by police show the suspect has a graying beard with thinning, close-cropped hair. He was wearing a green T-shirt with a yellow "Football 78" logo, blue jeans and sunglasses on top of his head.
