Denver police officer injured when vehicle rear-ends patrol car

Officer suffered leg injury

DENVER - An officer was injured when another vehicle rear-ended his patrol car early Saturday morning.

The officer was outside his patrol car investigating an accident on Interstate 70 near Havana when another vehicle hit his car around 2 a.m., according to Denver police.

The officer was transported to the hospital with a leg injury. The driver that hit the officer was cited for careless driving resulting in injury, according to Denver police.

The officer was transported to a hospital, but not admitted, and is expected to fully recover from his leg injury, police said.
