DENVER - A Denver Police Department dispatcher known as "The Voice of Denver" retired Tuesday after almost 21 years.
John Boller's retirement was announced over the police radios just before noon.
"He has been the voice of calm for those he has worked with and dispatched over his tenure with Denver 911," the announcement said.
"We wish John the best of luck."
"Any officers wishing to say their goodbyes" were advised to switch over to another channel after the initial announcement.
The messages from officers lasted more than two minutes.
