DENVER - Denver police have shared a sketch of a sexual assault suspect, based on the description from his victim.
The victim was approached by the suspect on June 20 around 6:30 p.m. while walking in the area of W. Alameda Ave. and S. Wolff St., by Weir Gulch. Police say the man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her until she was able to stop the assault by kneeing him in the right leg.
She was able to run away and call police, while the suspect limped away.
She said the suspect was a black male who was between 40 and 50 years of age, weighed 120 to 125 pounds and stood approximately 6 feet tall, police said. He had a full beard but no mustache, a mole or bruise over his left eye, a teardrop tattoo outside his left eye and long fingernails. He was also missing some teeth and his front tooth was chipped.
The suspect was wearing black pants and a jacket or vest that was gray or black with orange or blue highlights.
