Denver B-cycle system broken, engineers trying to fix 'software bugs'

DENVER - Many of Denver's B-cycle bike sharing locations are not working.

"We have kiosk transaction software bugs," B-cycle officials said in a news release. "These are still unresolved and have become more complicated over the last few days."

B-cycle users who pay by the day are unable to check out bikes.

However, annual members may be able to check out bikes. They're being told, "If you encounter a red 'x' when swiping your B-card, simply tap the metal sensor three times with your card. In most cases, this will override the system lock-down and allow you to pull the bike out."

Officials hope the software bug will be fixed in the next few days.
