Christmas-week bank robber may have struck previously

DENVER - Denver police believe a bank robber who struck during Christmas week in Denver may have also committed a previous robbery.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot white male in his 50s or 60s. He has gray hair and weighs between 200 or 210 pounds.

He is believed to be responsible for robbing the US Bank at 3400 W.38th Ave. on Dec. 23. He was wearing a hardhat and safety vest, giving him the appearance of a construction worker.

He is also suspected of robbing the First Bank at 700 W. 38th Ave. on May 31. At that time he was wearing a brown coat and a ball cap.

Police say that in the recent robbery, he claimed to have a bomb.
