WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - A pattern of burglaries in Denver and Wheat Ridge led police to the arrests of a brother and sister accused of stealing thousands of dollars' worth of lawn equipment.
According to Denver Police, the thieves were targeting lawn equipment like lawn mowers, leaf blowers and trimmers stored in sheds outside churches and homes.
The serial thefts occurred over several weeks in both Denver and Wheat Ridge, Denver police said.
On June 20, Denver detectives say they found a vehicle with the two people inside. The car was followed to the area of 49th Avenue and Knox Court, where detectives say they recognized the two were preparing to commit another burglary.
Charles Darrow, 45, and Valerie Darrow, 44, were both arrested and charged with second-degree burglary. They're linked to over 20 burglary cases, police said.
