DENVER - The blue bear sculpture at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver has been splattered with green paint.
Sunday’s sunrise revealed a large splatter of bright green paint down the back of the 40-foot-tall sculpture entitled "I See What You Mean." It appears the paint was dropped onto the sculpture from above.
Created by artist Lawrence Argent and installed in 2005, the blue bear is a steel sculpture encased in a blue fiberglass and cement composite. The bear peers into the main lobby of the Colorado Convention Center with its front paws and nose pressed against the outer window.
When 7NEWS called the Convention Center around 8 a.m., their security staff was not aware of the apparent vandalism.
