DENVER - Two children were killed in a hit and run at 14th Avenue and Yosemite Street, according to Denver Police. A third victim, a woman, was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, but police described her as unresponsive.

The children were both under the age of 5, police spokesman Sonny Jackson said. One child was pronounced dead at the scene, the other at the hospital.

Jackson called the woman's condition "very grave."

Police tweeted they are looking for a white or silver vehicle, possibly a Cadillac SUV or Toyota Tacoma pickup, in relation to this case. It may have front-end damage.

The vehicle was southbound at the time, but Jackson didn't know if the children and woman were going east or west. The suspect left the area a highway speeds.

Police first tweeted about the accident at 8:19 p.m.

"The community, they can really be extra eyes and ears for us in this situation," Jackson said. "That could make a huge difference."
