CENTENNIAL, Colo. - The Arapahoe County Sheriff is sharing a computerized composite of a person of interest in a recent sexual assault at Englewood Dam.
It happened on July 16, at 10:36 p.m., near 7000 S. Holly Street in Centennial.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office thinks the guy may have been in the area during the sexual assault and told 7NEWS they want to talk to him.
"He doesn't look familiar, no doesn't ring a bell. I don't recognize him," said Claudia Barroso as she examined the composite.
Investigators said the woman was on her phone talking to her sister when a man approached her. She told her sister to call police.
Police said he sexually assaulted her then fled the area. They haven't found a connection to other cases in the area, but that provides little comfort to people who walk the trails daily.
"I would never have thought even if they were close to the apartments over there, that that would happen here," said Sally Hayes, a nearby resident.
The man is described as a 5-foot-9, thin white male with a very pale complexion. His hair was very dark and "greasy."
He is described as being young, possibly a teenager.
Anyone who has information about the man's identity is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 303-795-4711.
