One Direction fans mass in Boulder, Denver for a peek at the band

BOULDER - A throng of fans of the London boy band One Direction ran after a tour bus outside the group's hotel in Boulder. Hundreds more waited for the band outside the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Hundreds of fans gathered outside the hotel at 900 Walnut St. in Boulder after rumors circulated that some or all of the band's five members would be staying there.

Police officers were sent to the area. Daily Camera reporter Mitchell Byars tweeted that they were trying to keep the crowd of girls from spilling into the street.

While 7NEWS reporter Lindsey Sablan was in the area, a police car drove by while an officer with a megaphone instructed the girls to get out of the street. Another officer got out and helped to keep the girls back as the band's tour bus arrived.

One Direction, which consists of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, is playing a concert Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

AIRTRACKER7 flew over the Pepsi Center just after 4 p.m. and saw hundreds of sign-waving girls waiting for the band's arrival.
