BOULDER, Colo. - The University of Colorado at Boulder's Engineering Center reopened Monday evening after a strange odor triggered an evacuation for about two hours.
A Boulder Fire Department hazardous materials team entered the building about 5:26 p.m., but found "no immediate danger," CU police said via Twitter. The basement of the chemical wing remained closed while CU Environmental Health and Safety Department officials investigate.
About 100 to 200 students were evacuated from the building about 4:30 p.m. as police and firefighters investigated the odor, police said.
The smell was first reported in the chemical wing of the building, CU police said.
