Boulder police looking for 2 men who stole backpack from outside Target

BOULDER, Colo. - Boulder police are looking for two men who stole a backpack from outside a Target store when the owner of the backpack left it briefly.

The theft occurred on July 12 at the Target store at 28th and Pearl streets.

The victim told police he was waiting outside the store for a friend. When the friend arrived, he walked away from his backpack for a few minutes, forgetting that he had left it behind.

When he ran back to retrieve it, it was gone. Inside the backpack were his personal items and a Samsung laptop computer, he said.

Surveillance video from Target shows two men leaving the store.

The one who stole the backpack is pictured in the front, carrying a blue backpack on his back and the stolen backpack in his arms, Boulder police said.  He was described as a white man with brown hair. He was wearing a green windbreaker, shorts, and a white bicycle helmet.

The second man was described as a white man wearing blue jeans, light shirt and red hat. He was wearing a dark backpack and walking two bicycles from the scene.
