BOULDER, Colo. – The co-owner of Boulder Ice Cream was arrested Thursday on accusations he sexually assaulted two of his workers. Boulder Police are seeking other possible victims.
Scott Roy, 54, is accused of sexually assaulting two women over the course of 15 years. Both Spanish-speaking women had a compromised work status and were hired to work on the production line at Boulder Ice Cream and at the Boulder Farmer’s Market.
"We have learned that the assaults have spanned approximately 15 years, and we believe that there are multiple victims,” said Shannon Cordingly, a spokesperson for the Boulder Police Department.
The two victims contacted police about the allegations in late 2015. Police say they lost their jobs shortly after the victims came forward. The company said it became aware of their work status at that time and accepted the women’s resignations.
Boulder Ice Cream has operated at multiple locations throughout Boulder over the past 15 years and for a short time operated in Louisville under Fresca Foods. Police believe other victims may be out there.
"The heinous part of this investigation so far has been that the victims that we believe out there are Spanish-speaking females with undocumented status,” said Cordingly.
Roy had also produced a series YouTube videos on relationships and referred to himself as an “intimacy coach.” The videos called “Date Camp” purported to help people “date successfully and love passionately.” He was featured on the Comedy Central show Tosh.O a couple of years back.
