Bird's nest burning in Boulder Theater marquee causes brief evacuation of Boulder Earth Conference

BOULDER, Colo. - A bird's nest caught fire in the marquee of the Boulder Theater, briefly forcing the evacuation of people attending the Boulder Earth Conference on Wednesday morning.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. delivered the morning keynote address at the environmental conference.

According to the Daily Camera, fire dispatchers said witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the marquee of the theater at 2032 14th Street at about 10:30 a.m.

Police officers arriving on scene reported the marquee was smoking and they evacuated the building.

At 10:40 a.m. the Boulder Theater tweeted: "We wish the #marquee wasn't on #fire #everyoneout #evacuate," with a video of people calmly exiting the building, with some attendees looking up at the marqee.

Later, the theater tweeted: "Everyone is fine! Thank you for all of the concern! Boulder Firemen are truly the best!"
