GUNBARREL, Colo. - Information about the person or persons who left poisoned meatballs in a Gunbarrel park could be worth $3,500.
The Boulder District Attorney and Sheriff say the money for the reward has come from several community members offering the funding to help with the investigation.
The raw meatballs initially found Monday night in the neighborhood park located at 5150 Buckingham Rd. They contained green chunks of rat poison, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Two more were found on Tuesday, before a seventh and eighth were found Wednesday.
Investigators believe the poisoned meatballs were left for pets to consume. They are slightly smaller than the average car key.
Veterinarians treated three dogs in connection with the meatballs.
Anyone with information about the meatballs should call the Sheriff's Office at 303-441-4444.
