BOULDER, Colo - A 13-year-old Loveland boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Aurora after he hit a tree and was found unconscious by another skier at Eldora Mountain Resort.
The boy was skiing on an intermediate run, the Jolly Jug, when the accident occurred Wednesday afternoon, around 12:20 p.m.
The accident wasn't witnessed by anyone but when a woman saw him lying unconscious, she skied to him and was able to revive him, said Boulder County Sheriff's deputy Joe Menger.
She then called her son to ski down the mountain and get the ski patrol.
The Eldora Ski Patrol took the injured teen to the First Aid Station, where he received additional treatment from the Nederland Fire Department before he was airlifted.
The teen's condition has not been released but he appears to be improving, the sheriff's office said.
The teen, whose name has not been released, was with his family on their spring break ski trip.
