Sinkhole grabs car in Aurora parking lot

AURORA, Colo. - A small sinkhole related to a water line break grabbed a sedan in an Aurora parking lot Thursday evening.

The sinkhole was reported around 5 p.m. in the parking lot at Hampden and Chambers, said Lt. Gary Millspaugh with the Aurora Police Traffic Division. The two people inside the car were able to get out on their own.

AIRTRACKER7 flew over the hole around 5:25 p.m. and found one wheel of a black Honda stuck in the hole while water gushed out.

Police tweeted that the sink hole grew until the broken water main was turned off.

Millspaugh said officers are working with Aurora water to make repairs.
