AURORA, Colo. - Campus police are investigating an accidental shooting in which two people suffered minor injuries at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Aurora.
The shooting happened Friday in a staff member's office at the dental school on the Anschutz Medical Campus, Campus Police Chief Doug Abraham said in a Monday statement.
Two people in the office received minor injuries and were not hospitalized, the chief said.
The staff member who possessed the gun had a concealed carry permit for it. That staff member is on administrative leave, Abraham said.
CU spokesman Dan Meyers said he could not offer details on how the gun was accidentally fired because of the ongoing investigation.
"My staff and I continue to be committed the safety and security of the Anschutz Medical Campus. There is no threat to campus safety or security," Abraham said.
