Murder and menacing charges filed over stabbing death at the Pace Setter Motel

AURORA - Murder and menacing charges face the suspect in a stabbing death discovered in an Aurora motel last week.

Jeffery Alan Banworth, 51, is accused of fatally stabbing Ryan Christopher Siefford on Dec. 20. The body of the 31-year-old victim was discovered on Dec. 20 at the Pace Setter Motel at 14291 E. Colfax Ave.

17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young's office announced Thursday that it decided to file three felony counts against Banworth, one count of first degree murder and two counts of menacing. The suspect was advised of the charges in court Thursday.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m.

Banworth is being held without bond.
