AURORA, Colo. - A 21-year-old man has been charged with the fatal stabbing of a woman found Thursday night in her wheelchair.
Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, someone called Aurora police to the area of East Colfax Avenue near Altura Boulevard, saying that a woman in a wheelchair had come from behind one of the businesses in that area and appeared to have injuries to her upper torso.
Francine Reade, 67, was found in her wheelchair at 15075 E. Colfax Ave. in Aurora.
Shawn Lewis Lopez is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder, second-degree kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated robbery of an at-risk adult. The District Attorney's office, however, declined to release further details because the case remains under investigation.
Lopez is scheduled to appear in Adams County Court for an advisement at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
