AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora Police are investigating a shoving incident which was caught on camera.

It shows a man, wearing what appears to be a uniform, shoving a young woman to the ground, across the street from Aurora Central High School.

The video was initially posted to snapchat on Friday.

The woman who sent the video to Denver7 claims the man in uniform is a police officer. She said her sister shot the video and asked her to share it with us. She added that the woman who was shoved was on her way to fight two other girls.

It’s not clear if the man in uniform is indeed an officer. The video was shot from across the street.

The man is wearing a dark uniform with short sleeves and a patch on the left shoulder.  There is also something on the left front of the uniform, where officers normally wear a badge, but the video is quite fuzzy.

Sgt. Chris Amsler, a spokesman for the department, said they can’t tell if it’s an officer either, but they want to find out, so they’ve opened an investigation. He said to his knowledge, there have been no reports or complaints about the incident filed with the department.

The woman who sent the video did not want to talk on camera. She said her sister didn’t either.

Amsler said police would like to talk to anyone who shot video of the incident and is asking them to contact Aurora PD’s Internal Affairs unit at (303) 739-6072.
