Woman killed backing out of Arvada garage

ARVADA, Colo. - An Arvada woman was killed while backing out of her garage Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, 54-year-old Karen Sanders was backing out of her two-car garage when she got out of the pickup truck for some reason. She was pinned between the open driver's door and the frame of the open garage door.
The accident happened on Indiana Street near 76th Avenue. The victim was found by a family member just before 2 p.m.
"It is unclear at this time why the vehicle was in reverse while Sanders was outside of the vehicle," the state patrol said in a news release.
