Distracted driving could be the cause of a fatal crash in Arvada

JEFFERSON COUNTY, colo. - State Troopers are investigating distracted driving as a possible cause of a fatal crash in Jefferson County Tuesday afternoon.

The crash killed a 19-year-old around 2 p.m. on Indiana Street about a mile south of 128th avenue.

The teenager was in a southbound sedan when they veered into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a pickup truck. The teenager was killed instantly, while the woman driving the pickup suffered minor injuries.

The road is currently closed for the investigation into the crash.
