BUENA VISTA, Colo. - A fire has damaged part of Cottonwood Hot Springs near Buena Vista.

The Chaffee County Sheriff told 7NEWS it appears the fire started in the office area.

The main building has been added onto year after year so many of the structures are tied together, according to Sheriff Pete Palmer. The current layout of the grounds shows the office in the same building as several guest rooms.

There is no word on the damages or if there were any injuries.

Cottonwood Hot Springs has been a destination for its waters since the late 1800s. A hotel built in 1878 was destroyed by a fire in 1911.
