Family: Woman Stabbed Husband In Back

Nancy Bautista Accused Of Using Large Kitchen Knife

A 53-year-old woman faces attempted murder charges after her husband was stabbed in the back with a large kitchen knife.

The victim told police that his wife, Nancy Bautista, had stabbed him and waited 90 minutes before calling family members.

Those family members then called 911 from a cellular phone because the phone lines in the home had been disconnected, authorities said.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies arrived at the home, located in the 5900 block of Dunraven Court, north of Golden, and found that a man had been stabbed.

Detectives said Bautista had stabbed her husband in the back with a large kitchen knife and allegedly unplugged the phone line at home to prevent him from calling for help.

Bautista was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and domestic violence. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.
