Firefighters in Colorado Springs saved a Chihuahua and two other dogs at a house fire Monday. The fire started on Chamberlin South at 1 p.m.While firefighters were searching the home to make sure no one was trapped, they found three dogs hiding in a back bedroom, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette."When I pulled him [the Chihuahua] out, he was starting to get stiff and he was on his last legs," Stratmoor Hills Firefighter Darren Pellett told the newspaper. "I was trained how to do CPR on humans and I figured it couldnt be that different to do it on a dog."Pellett breathed air into the dog's lungs and gave it chest compressions and the dog revived.Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire. Damage to the home was extensive, fire officials said.
