Denver Police Catch Murder Suspect

Ricky Scott Arrested Friday Night

Denver police said they arrested a man wanted for a July murder on Friday night.

Ricky Scott was taken into custody at 8:55 p.m. on the 1600 block of West 37th Avenue, Denver Lt. Matt Murray said.

Scott was wanted for the murder of Anthony Silva, who was found shot to death in the early morning of July 23.

Murray said Silva's body was found laying in the street on the 3800 block of Paris Street. Silva was a Fort Carson soldier who was about to be discharged from the service when he was shot.

Police said that Silva, a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, was shot while walking his dog.

Scott, 22, was found guilty of possessing dangerous drugs in Denver District Court in October 2010. He was sentenced to two years probation.
