ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. – A young woman was taken into custody early Saturday after allegedly threatening to kill police officers on Interstate 70 near Agate.
Jasmine Faith Delores Johnson, 26, of Denver, was contacted on I-70 just east of the Agate exit at around 11:13 p.m.
An exchange of gunfire ensued, but neither the suspect nor officers were hit by gunfire, according to Vikki Migoya, a spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Several Colorado agencies responded to the standoff Saturday, according to Denver7’s Amanda del Castillo who reported from the scene.
Officials with the Elbert County and Arapahoe County Sheriff's offices, Limon Police Department, Colorado Bureau of Investigations, and the Colorado State Patrol were involved in processing the crime scene.
