Tenth suspect in connection to murder of Colorado Springs teens turns himself in

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- A tenth suspect wanted in connection to the murder of two Colorado Springs teens found dead south of Fountain last month has turned himself in.

Endo Velarde, 18, who also goes by "Sleepy," turned himself in to the Criminal Justice Center on Saturday at around 7:10 p.m., according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Velarde was taken into custody on charges of Attempt to Influence a Public Official related to the alleged double homicide. He was also booked in on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the teens' deaths. 

So far, ten people have been arrested in this ongoing investigation and more arrests are possible, deputies said Saturday.

In just the past week, four suspects were arrested in connection with this case. 

Breeana Eloise Dahlberg, 20, and Carlos Meza, a.k.a. "Tink," were arrested Friday afternoon on felony charges related to the case. On Wednesday, deputies took Angelita Prado, 21, into custody on kidnapping charges. A day before, another man was arrested in connection to the alleged murders.

Last Saturday, four others were also arrested on various charges relating to the teens’ deaths, including murder, kidnapping, robbery and child abuse. 

And on March 19, a week after the teens were found dead, deputies arrested Gustavo Antonio Marquez, 19, and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of child abuse resulting in death.

Derek Greer, 15, and Natalie Partida, 16, were found dead the morning of March 12 along the side of Old Pueblo Road, about three-quarters of a mile south of Hanover Road. Investigators have not said how the teens were killed.
