BOULDER, Colo. — According to police in Boulder, a man is being treated for a stab wound after being bumped on the Boulder Creek Path and moments later realizing he was stabbed. His alleged attacker remains at-large.
Officials say the 53-year-old was walking with his dog on Wednesday around 9:20 p.m. on the path when he heard footsteps behind him and felt pain.
The man ran away after the victim turned around. The victim tried to run after him but stopped when he felt that he was bleeding through his shirt.
"This is a very random attack for this area," said Shannon Cordingly, a spokesperson for the Boulder Police Department.
Now being treated for a stab wound, the victim described the suspect as a tall and skinny white man wearing all black clothing. The suspect wore a square, black backpack with white trim on the top and sides that took up the width of his shoulders.
Police say the stabbing was just south of the Boulder Public Library on 1001 Arapahoe Avenue. They have since increased officer presence on the path.
