Short pursuit ensues after police search for stolen truck in Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. -- The driver of a stolen truck in Adams County is on the run after police tried to stop the vehicle early Friday morning.

Adams County Sheriff's deputies were trying to stop the stolen white Ford F-350 when the driver took off and a short chase ensued in the area of 75th Avenue and York. Once the pursuit entered Thornton, deputies backed off.

Shortly after, deputies started getting reports of shots fired in the area of West 96th and Croke Drive but found no evidence to back up the reports.

Officials have not been able to find the driver of the stolen truck.
