DENVER -- Denver police are looking for additional victims after a sex assault suspect was arrested at the 16th St. Mall late Thursday morning.

The man was arrested after several people held him down and handed him over to authorities, according to a spokesperson with the Denver Police Department.

Several people saw the suspect inappropriately touching other women in the same area -- along Tremont Place on the 16th St. Mall -- just moments before allegedly assaulting the woman who ultimately helped detain him, police said.

A spokesperson with The Downtown Denver Partnership said they are continuing to contract with private security. Uniformed and unarmed officers were first hired last summer after series of attacks at the mall. Private security is available 24/7, the spokesperson said.

Last summer, the city also tripled the number of officers doing "Walk the Beat," a program that places extra police officers along the 16th St. Mall. Police could not say whether they plan to increase the number of officers along the mall this summer.
