BOULDER, Colo. – A woman police accuse of pepper spraying a Boulder officer last week was arrested Monday.

Boulder Police say Gina Herndon, 34, assaulted the officer with pepper spray after a confrontation at a Boulder coffee shop last Tuesday.

The officer was trying to question Herndon about an earlier incident at a Safeway store where she allegedly harassed customers with the same chemical irritant.

Herndon took off on foot after the alleged coffee shop assault, and police have been searching for her ever since.

But, police got a break when an officer spotted her near 13th and Pearl street Monday morning. She was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, third-degree assault, criminal mischief and attempted criminal mischief.

The officer who was allegedly attacked by Herndon was treated and released at a nearby Boulder hospital.
