Police: Man entered Longmont home, sexually assaulted juvenile

LONGMONT, Colo. — A man has been charged after he allegedly entered a home through an unlocked door and sexually assaulted a juvenile inside.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday, Longmont police officers responded to a burglary in progress along the 100 block of Snowmass Place in Longmont.

The suspect is accused of entering a home through an unlocked door and sexually assaulting a juvenile inside, police said. Other people in the home chased the suspect out of the residence.

The suspect was later identified as 33-year-old Rodrigo Ignacio Albarran-Estrada, also known as Julio Carra.

After a full day of investigating and searching for Albarran-Estrada, police found him at a home in Thornton at 5:44 p.m. He was arrested with the assistance of the Thornton Police Department.

Albarran-Estrada was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and sexual assault on a child.
