GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — A man suspected of shooting a woman to death in a northern Colorado home is being held without bail.

The Greeley Tribune reports 49-year-old Ronald Budler was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of 51-year-old Shawna Naimoli in Mead. He is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Deputies arrived at the home Wednesday morning and found the Thornton woman with two gunshot wounds to the face and a bolt-action rifle resting on her chest. Investigators were skeptical that the death was a suicide because it would have been difficult for Naimoli to shoot herself in the face twice with that kind of weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, Budler acknowledged shooting the woman.

Booking documents do not indicate if he has hired an attorney.
