DENVER – One of Colorado’s most notorious sex offenders is again wanted by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Troy Goodroad, 28, has an active warrant out of Arapahoe County for failing to register as a sex offender for the second time. The warrant has been active since last year.

Goodroad pleaded guilty to a sexual exploitation of a child charge from January 2008, and saw sexual assault charges dropped as a result.

After he was sent to jail, he pleaded guilty to a March 2008 offense in which he was charged with assault for tossing bodily fluids on a corrections officer.

In 2011, he pleaded guilty to attempted escape. He was also found guilty of filing false information in Denver in 2007.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says he was also convicted of illegal sexual contact in 1999.

The state is expected to release a new Top 100 list of wanted sex offenders in coming days, and Goodroad is expected to be among the top wanted offenders.

Eight of the fugitives on the list from March have been arrested, and there are likely to be 17 new additions to the forthcoming Top 100 list.

Goodroad also goes by the name “Joe Cavett” and is described as a black male, 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone who has knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call CBI at 303-239-5732 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
