DENVER – Colorado authorities are looking for help in tracking down a convicted sex offender with a history of skipping out on registering.

Austin Wade Richardson, 23, has an active warrant out of Jefferson County for failing to register as a sex offender and escaping from felony conviction charges. In total, his warrant contains three felony counts.

The warrant was issued in February, but Richardson had pleaded guilty in June 2016 for failing to register as well. That arrest came on the heels of several more charges for failing to register since 2013, and a disorderly conduct citation, according to state court records.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says Richardson has a conviction on a charge of sex assault of a victim under age 15.

The No. 13 most-wanted sex offender in Colorado, Richardson is described as a black male who is 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact CBI at 303-239-5732 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
