DENVER – A former Denver Fire Department firefighter on Friday was charged with possession of child porn, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said.

Mark Benjamin Jacobson, 53, was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. The charges were filed on Feb. 22, according to Ken Lane, a spokesperson for the Denver DA’s Office.

Jacobson had “sexually exploitative images and videos of underage children, and viewed them at this place of work as a Denver firefighter in July 2016,” according to Lane.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was given a cybertip report from an internet hosting company when it was suspect that its services were being used to host images of child porn, Lane added.

The suspect, who has posted bond, was arrested on Valentine’s Day and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on March 21, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.

Denver7 contacted the suspect’s lawyer for comment, but did not hear back by publishing time.
