Domestic violence suspect wanted after removing his ankle monitor turns himself in

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. -- A domestic violence suspect in Adams County who was on the run after removing his ankle monitor turned himself in Sunday, according to Adams County Sheriff's Office deputies. 

Thomas Benjamin Armijo, 32, was out on bond awaiting trial for charges of domestic violence assault and violation of a protection order out of Adams County when the sheriff's office was notified he had removed his GPS ankle monitor that he was wearing as a condition of bond and as part of a supervised release program. 

Armijo was also wanted for a domestic violence assault and violation of a protection order out of Denver. 

Deputies said at around 3:30 p.m. on Twitter that the suspect had turned himself in. No other details were provided.
