BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Police are looking for a man they say fled from a Broomfield courtroom and then stole a city-owned dump truck after causing a crash.

Police say 28-year-old Leonard Allen was in court for undisclosed reasons Monday morning when he took off in a vehicle, which was later determined by police to have been stolen out of Aurora.

After racing out of the parking lot, police say Allen caused a crash at the intersection of East Midway Boulevard and Main Street, just a block from Broomfield Combined Courts.

No injuries were reported.

After the crash, police say Allen jumped into a dump truck parked nearby and took off.

The dump truck, a white and blue Ford F350, belongs to the City and County of Broomfield.

Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a Hispanic male with a beard and a goatee.

He was last seen in the area of Interstate 25 and State Highway 7.

The stolen dump truck has a Broomfield Logo on the door with license plates 288-WIB.

Police are asking the public to call 303-438-6400 if they have any information on the case.
