EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- A victim and a gunman are dead and another suspect is in custody following a shooting in El Paso County late Saturday evening.

Deputies initially went to the area of Brant Road and Pathfinder Drive late Saturday after getting reports of a shooting in the Security area.

Once there, they found a woman with gunshot wounds. She was immediately taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but died a short time later.

An alert was sent out for the suspects -- brothers Demetrius Mac Moore and Daniel Moore -- ages 40 and 32, respectively -- who were considered armed and dangerous by law enforcement.

The brothers had split up but deputies were able to find them: One of the brothers was found on Chelton Road and the other was found in the downtown area of Platte and Union.

It's not clear who was found where, but deputies did say officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department and Sheriff's deputies exchanged gunfire with one of the suspects, ultimately killing him. One deputy sustained minor injuries, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office.

The other suspect was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information or is a witness to this investigation is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000 or if you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
